Far From a Failure

A wise man once told me “Life is all about experiences and relationships.”  Thanks dad for the advise that I try to live my life by.  Last week we came to a tough decision to shut down Eminence Kimono, our Jiu Jitsu gear and kimono company.  It just became too much of a chore with our new gym, De Boa Jiu Jitsu Academy, set to open within the next month.  I am grateful to of had the experience of owning and running (my wife did a lot of the running) the business.  We met some amazing people and had some great experiences running the company.  I also learned more about business and the challenges of business during the last two years than I did pursuing my degree in business in college.

I’d like to give a shout out to all our sponsored athletes throughout the two years in business.  We appreciate the time and effort you all put into our company.  Thanks to all that purchased GIs and gear, the last two years would not of been possible without you.

The thing I will miss the least is dealing with our oversees suppliers.  This is the most challenging and risky part of the business not to mention the most time consuming piece.

I’m ready a new chapter and for my academy to open and can’t wait to see what the future holds, all while cherishing and enjoying the journey.
