It Didn’t Stay in Vegas

Well it didn’t stay in Vegas, the medal that is. I had the chance to compete at the IBJJF Las Vegas Open over the weekend. One of the guys in my division was DQ’d leaving me in a two man division for the Masters 1 Medium Heavy Black Belt Division. I wasn’t extremely happy with how I rolled but it got me the dub and accomplished the goal of showing me areas to improve, mainly everywhere.

Competing alongside of me were De Boa Coaches Andres Campa and Leslie Gardineer. Andres had a tough first match that didn’t go his way. Leslie, my wife, competed in the adult division even though (don’t tell her I told you this) she is a few years past 30 years old. She we won her first putting her in the Finals, then lost a close ref’s decision in the finals. I’m proud of both of you!

A happy Mother’s Day to my beautiful wife, my mom, and my mother-in-law, I’m blessed to have you all in my life. Late Happy Mother’s to all the amazing mothers out there!
