One Jiu Jitsu

2015 was an amazing year! The year surpassed any expectations I had going in and will definetely be one to remember. May 16, 2015 was the official Grand Opening of De Boa Jiu Jitsu Academy and official start to what has been an amazing chapter in my life so far. The gym has grown quickly and more importantly has a phenominal group of people in it. I’m very blessed to have students who eager to learn and grow, instructors who are hungry and humble and a gym that is truly enjoyable to be in. I have found my escape in De Boa!

It would be easy for me to celebrate the success of De Boa and become complacent with where we are. After all we have exceded my goals of where we would be as a gym at this point. It is time to start thinking bigger, dreaming bigger and making goals higher. I have been blessed with such a great team that as a leader I would be doing us all an injustice to settle for being great. I’m excited to announce that in 2016 De Boa Jiu Jitsu will be representing One Jiu Jitsu!

My Professor, Giva Santana, has made the decision to move on from Lotus Club Jiu Jitsu and start his own affiliation, One Jiu Jitsu. He has hopes and dreams of becoming something great where we all support each other, push one another and grow together. After much thought, many talks, and sleepless nights we have decided to follow him on this new adventure. I’m so excited for the things to come and believe full heartedly that 2016 is going to be special.

I’m so grateful that I found Lotus Club Jiu Jitsu in 2008, it has been huge in my Jiu Jitsu Journey. At the time I was plateaued in my Jiu Jitsu and had little guidance on to reach my goals. Through Lotus Club I found so many inspirational people in my Jiu Jitsu career and life. I am thankful for my Jiu Jitsu brothers and sisters that went to war with me daily and brought me to the next level. I am thankful for my first Lotus Club Professor Ricardo Zanelato who brought and excitement and passion to Jiu Jitsu that I didn’t know existed. I am thankful for Professor Marcelo Ramones Copa who brought a type of beat down daily that forced me to push to the next level. Thankful for Professor Sama for showing me what big man Jiu Jitsu can look like. Although I will be wearing a different patch on my back I will always have my past Professors and training partners apart of my Jiu Jitsu Family. OSS

New Year, New Beginning and bigger dreams, 2016 is going to be special!
