Worlds Day 1

IBJJF World Brazilian Jiu Jitsu Championships kicked off today at the Pyramid in Long Beach California.   This is my first year working at Worlds as a score keeper.  Makes for a long day of concentration.   Three of my students competed in the blue bekt division today.   First up was Tyson Antillion taking on one of the largest brackets in the whole tournament.   He came out strong winning his first three matches before falling short in the fourth.  Jason Gatti competed in the same division as Tyson.  He won his first and lost his second to the eventual silver medalist.   Kellend Brookover was the last to go trying to win back to back World championships.  The first match went according to plan but in the second he ended up losing by advantages.  I was hoping for some golds but still very proud of our team.   Tomorrow at 9am we are at it again.
